PPC Matches

Registration will be at 08:30, range briefing at 08:45, and matches start at 09:00 sharp.

You can shoot any or all of the COF for the single fee of $4 for Pinetucky members, or $12 for non-members.  In addition, you may then use the Pinetucky pistol and rifle ranges for the rest of the day for no extra charge.

For those that may not have seen them earlier, a brief review of the equipment and courses of fire:

* Each 600 Match course of fire consists of 60 rounds, usually in strings of six.  There will be occasional reloads required in a string, so you will need something to reload with - speedloaders for revolvers or spare magazines for autoloaders.  The maximum number of shots fired in a stage (at a given yardage) will be 24, so three spare loading devices are recommended.  One spare is required, but most folks like to have enough ammo to get through a stage without refilling the spares.  A few of the diehards will load up 10 magazines, moon clips, or speedloaders to be prepared for the entire course of fire, but that is not really necessary.

* Stages are fired at 7, 15, and 25 yards, and this year, we will throw in an occasional stage at 50 yards just to keep it interesting.

* Any revolver caliber greater than or equal to .32 is acceptable; likewise any autoloader caliber greater than or equal to 9mm.

* Revolver or pistol barrels are limited to 6" in length.

* No compensated or ported barrels are allowed.

* Open iron sights are the only sights allowed - no telescopic or dot optical sights.

* You will need a serviceable holster, strong side waist carry only No cross draw or shoulder holsters are allowed - this is primarily a safety requirement.  Any holster that is not completely open front is PPC-legal.  Something to carry your spare reloads in is also recommended - you could use a jacket pocket, but a dedicated magazine or speedloader
holder is best.

* If you have an IDPA-legal pistol and holster, it will be legal for PPC.

* There are no ammunition power requirements.

* Shooting glasses and hearing protection are mandatory.  We recommend that you wear a baseball cap or other hat to prevent injuries from hot flying brass.  Ladies, we recommend blouses buttoned at the neck for the same reason.

Hope to see you there.
